Concrete

Consider T.Gerding Construction Co. your concrete construction experts. Over the years, TGCC has constructed heavy concrete foundations and walls, concrete tilt-up panels, parking structures, slabs on grade, and more.

In some of these projects we performed the role of general contractor, and in others we were brought in as a subcontractor to do the specialized work.

We understand the importance of continuing education in keeping pace with the construction industry. Each year, we send key staff associated with concrete construction to the World of Concrete trade show to take part in seminars and classes, demonstrations, and networking events.

Kelley Engineering Building

Oregon State University, Corvallis, Oregon

We were honored with an award for Excellence in Concrete by the Oregon Chapter of the American Concrete Institute and Oregon Concrete and Aggregate Producers Association for our work on this 132,000 sq. ft., three-story classroom structure.

Work performed included various slabs on grade, gang-formed concrete foundation walls, elevated concrete slab over the basement as a main floor, and post-tension beams and slabs on the upper floors. The building also includes an open atrium area with exposed architectural concrete from the main floor to the roof—a feature that divides the building into north and south structures connected by three pedestrian bridges.

Example Projects

Angell Civilian Conservation Center

Yachats, Oregon

On this project for the U.S. Department of Labor, we performed all the concrete foundation work and acted as general contractor. This challenging project used more than 1,000 cubic yards of concrete, including numerous complex walls built on a steep hillside with very little staging room.

ATS Tooling Systems

Corvallis, Oregon

We completed this design-build project in partnership with DJ Architecture. It consists of a 58,000 sq. ft. concrete tilt-up steel roof warehouse for industrial use. Working with the architect and a local engineering firm, we were able to value-engineer the design and prepare permit-ready plans. We prepared pricing packages, budgets, and schedules for all elements of the project and worked with the owner’s representative throughout the construction phase to ensure completion of a high-quality facility.

Columbia Colstor

Quincy, Washington

This 270,000 sq. ft. cold storage facility used more than 9,000 cubic yards of concrete. We completed it on an accelerated schedule, working six, 10 hour days until it was finished.
